Samsung mobile chief JK Shin reportedly told Korean media that the company has sold more than 40 million units of the Galaxy S4 worldwide.
Samsung has acquired US$2 billion worth of shares in Gorilla Glass manufacturers Corning, roughly a 7.4 percent stake in the company, in exchange for Corning taking full control of their joint company, Samsung Corning Precision Materials Co. Ltd.

Samsung Mobile Singapore confirms that it is aware of the battery issues on the Galaxy S4 and is offering a free replacement battery for affected customers.

Samsung Mobile Singapore just announced that the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition (32GB) will be available in Classic White from 19 October. The Jet Black model will be available a week later.
A number of Samsung Galaxy S4 users in Germany are reporting serious draining issues and bloated batteries. We did a check on HardwareZone forums and uncovered several users in Singapore facing similar issues.

Swedish biometrics firm Fingerprint Cards AB just announced that it is acquired by Samsung Electronics for $650 million in cash. (Update: Fingerprint Cards issued a statement that it is not acquired by Samsung.)
Korean media sources are reporting that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is slated for an official announcement in January 2014 and will hit retail shelves in February.
