Canon Announces New 100D & 700D EOS DSLR Cameras
Canon has just announced two brand new DSLR cameras, the 100D and the 700D. Canon calls the 100D "the world's smallest, lightest DSLR", and is essentially the mirrorless EOS M in a DSLR shell with better battery life. The 700D update brings it closer in specifications to the two and a half-year old EOS 60D.

Sony has announced the SLT-A58, Sony's latest DSLR offering and first to feature 'TRIMUMINOS Color' support, as well as the NEX-3N, the smallest and lightest interchangeable-lens camera with a large APS-C sized sensor.

Despite losing market share over the past year, Canon and Olympus still have the largest market share in the Japanese domestic camera market. Canon sees an increased DSLR market share and Olympus also remains the top mirrorless system camera manufacturer.

Nikon has just announced the D5200 DSLR camera, the successor to the D5100 which was released in early 2011. Like the D5100, the D5200 is Nikon's higher-powered entry-level model and sits above the basic D3200. It comes with a 24MP sensor, 39 AF points and a completely redesigned user interface.
