M1 just issued a media statement with more updates on its preliminary findings for the mobile network outage that occurred on 4 February. In addition, it is also taking immediate measures to enhance its mobile network.

A SingTel spokesperson has confirmed to HardwareZone that a server glitch caused intermittent mobile data access for some customers at approximately 11.05AM. All data services were normalized within 20 minutes.

M1's preliminary investigations reveal that a call processing software issue resulted in the service outage earlier this morning. To compensate its customers for the inconvenience caused, M1 is offering one day of free local mobile calls, local SMS and MMS on February 9, Sunday.
