HP has announced availability and pricing details for its new linup of consumer and business PCs that is designed to work with Windows 8.
Measuring less than 21mm thin, the 14-inch Satellite U940 comes powered by Intel Ivy Bridge processors with NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M discrete graphics, and features a raised illuminated tiled keyboard and a spacious ClickPad with support for Windows 8 gesture.
Apple today added a second Retina display-equipped MacBook Pro to its laptop lineup. The just announced 13-inch MacBook Pro features a 2,560 x 1,600-pixel LED-backlit display, and the base model with a 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of flash storage is priced at S$2,388.

Apple's October 23rd event is expected to reveal the much talked about 7-inch iPad Mini, followed by the 13-inch Macbook Pro with Retina display. And as if that wasn't enough, there's also speculation that the event will feature redesigned iMacs and updated Mac Minis.

Designed for Windows 8, the three touch-friendly PCs - the Satellite U920t Premier Series Convertible Ultrabook, Satellite P845t Premier Series notebook PC and Regza LX830 All-In-One desktop PC, will be available from 26 October.
According to research house Gartner, Lenovo has overtaken Hewlett-Packard as the world's number one PC manufacturer. That's good news for Lenovo, but the same study also shows that global PC shipments has fallen by 8%.
