Sony has announced plans for software and firmware updates to improve the overall usability, speed, and functionality of the Cyber-shot QX100 and QX10 "Lens-style" cameras. The software update for the PlayMemories mobile app v4.0 is now available for all Sony Wi-Fi enabled cameras in addition to the Cyber-shot QX series.

Sony launched the Xperia Z1 F smartphone in Japan, which is a 4.3-inch variant of its flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z1. An international model is said to be announced later next month at CES 2014.
