Sony has announced the Alpha NEX-5R, successor to the NEX-5N. The 5R brings with it new Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as a hybrid AF system combining the AF methods used in DSLR and mirrorless cameras.
Sony has unveiled its first 4K 3D TV at IFA 2012, and it comes in the form of the 84-inch Bravia 84X900.

Firmware version 1.80 has gone live for Sony's handheld, portable console the PS Vita bringing about a few changes. Not only can the device now be used as a controller for the PlayStation 3, but is also compatible with selected PlayStation 1 titles.

Sony has introduced the latest additions to its NXCAM range of professional video products - the NEX-EA50H and NEX-EA50K, as well as the PX Series "Mirroring Memory Stick".
At least three Nexus devices are reported to be launched later this year from LG, Samsung and Sony. The three devices include the Samsung Galaxy Nexus II, LG Optimus Nexus and Sony Xperia Nexus.

Leaked internal slides revealed an upcoming Sony tablet that is slimmer, lighter and more powerful than the Tablet S. As depicted in recent leaked photos, the device will feature the unique "wedge" design of the Sony Tablet S, albeit in a thinner body.
