According to a teardown report by IHS, Apple spends about US$191 on components to build a 16GB iPhone 5S and US$8 on manufacturing the device for a total of US$199 (S$250). This makes it roughly the same as last year's iPhone 5, which IHS estimates cost Apple about US$205.

Apple just announced that it has sold 9 million new iPhones in just three days after its launch on 20 September.
The die shot of the new Apple A7 processor has been revealed. The 64-bit processor is manufactured by Samsung and has a die size of 102 mm squared, with roughly 1 billion transistors.
