Skype announces the global availability of Skype for Android using either a WiFi or mobile data connection (GPRS, EDGE, 3G). The application is available for download from the Skype mobile browser or via the Android Market.

Huawei unveiles the IDEOS smartphone for the first time in Singapore. The new smartphone, which is the world's first mass market smartphone to be powered by Android 2.2, redefines the "Android for all" concept by combining full feature performance with high-quality hardware and software at a very competitive price.
It would seem that Google has finally brought paid apps to Singapore and 12 other countries though it seems access hasn't yet been enabled.
