Norton has released a survey which sheds light on Singaporeans' mobile usage habits, the importance of personal information, and their level of understanding when it comes to mobile security.
According to Symantec, a new Android.Dropdialer Trojan was found masquerading as two popular game titles on the Google Play store. Since their appearances on Google Play on June 24, they’ve raked in 50,000 to 100,000 downloads.

The new WD 2go mobile app lets customers move, copy, and share content between their mobile device, their Dropbox, and their WD personal cloud. This combines the benefits of personal and public cloud storage into one, user-friendly app.
Research house IHS iSuppli recently stripped a 8GB Nexus 7 and found that it costs $151.75 to build. They also found that it is highly similar to the Kindle Fire.

Amazon is now said to be developing a smartphone that "would vie with Apple's iPhone and handheld devices that run Google’s Android operating system", Bloomberg reports.
Ouya, a US-based startup, plans to take its Android-based gaming console to Kickstarter for funding. It plans to rejuvenate the TV gaming console scene by pricing its system cheap, which will cost less than $100, and offer interested developers a truly open-source platform to showcase their wares!

This malicious app sends SMS messages to specific numbers, incurring unnecessary charges and although these fake Skype apps are marketed specifically to Android users, the malicious .JAR file can be executed on pre-Software Installation Script (SIS) Symbian phones or certain versions of Android which run Java MIDlet too.
