NVIDIA-Led Team Receives $25 Million Contract From DARPA to Develop High-Performance GPU Computing Systems
A team led by NVIDIA has been awarded a research grant of $25 million by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the US Defense Department's research and development arm, to address what the agency calls a "crisis in computing".
A website claims to have tested a GeForce GTX 480 sporting the full 512 CUDA cores that the GF100 architecture promises.

NVIDIA unveils the NVIDIA 3D Vision Pro, a new 3D stereoscopic solution to aid professionals who work with complex 3D designs to see their work in greater detail. Designed for the new Quadro powered desktop and mobile workstations, the 3D Vision Pro kit includes a pair of 3D Vision Pro active-shutter glasses and RF emitter.
NVIDIA releases Application Acceleration Engines (AXE) optimized for their new Quadro GPUs. Designed for the professional software development community, the latest versions include the NVIDIA SceniX 6, NVIDIA Cg Tooklit 3, and NVIDIA OptiX 2.
NVIDIA adds a new range of Fermi-based GPUs to their professional Quadro lineup. The new GPUs include the NVIDIA Quadro Plex 7000 array, Quadro 6000, Quadro 5000 and Quadro 4000. They'll feature the new NVIDIA Scalable Geometry Engines which leverages on NVIDIA's Application Acceleration Engines (AXE) to handle a range of CAD, DCC and visualization applications.
