GPU shipment figures for Q3 2013 have been released by Jon Peddie Research. Among the incumbent dominant players, NVIDIA had strong gains in the desktop segment. On the whole, the company's overall PC graphics shipments increased 2.3%.

AMD has announced its 12GB FirePro S10000 graphics card that is meant for high performance computing (HPC) implementations. NVIDIA also has its own solution, in the form of the 12GB Tesla K40 graphics card.

NVIDIA has announced CUDA 6 and this parallel programming platform has been updated to enable CUDA developers to be more efficient. CUDA 6 has also been enhanced to allow the same developers to retrofit CPU-based libraries with GPU-based ones for efficient parallel processing.

NVIDIA has just announced that its new GeForce GTX 780 Ti graphics card will be available at a suggested e-tail price of US$699. They also announced price revisions to the GeForce GTX 780 and GTX 770.
NVIDIA has rolled out the ShadowPlay feature in its latest GeForce Experience update. ShadowPlay was announced last month at NVIDIA's Montreal 2013 event. It promises to let gamers record their gameplay without affecting their gaming experience.
