Tim Cook takes a jab at Microsoft's upcoming Windows 8 operating system during a recent conference call. Although the Apple CEO did not mention Microsoft specifically, the insinuative remark was a little too obvious to miss.
Microsoft has announced it will release a 'Release Preview' version of Windows 8 in the first week of June. The president of Microsoft's Windows unit, Mr. Steven Sinofsky made this announcement at a Windows Developer Days event in Japan yesterday.

Sources close to Microsoft have told The Verge that existing Windows Phone devices will not be receiving the Apollo update. Should this be true, it will create a fragmentation of devices with different Windows Phone versions, much like what Google's Android is currently facing.
A Microsoft spokesperson has confirmed in an interview that all Windows Phone 7 handsets will be getting the upgrade to Windows Phone 8, "Apollo".
