At JP Morgan's Technology, Media & Telecom Conference, Microsoft's Windows Division CMO and CFO, Tami Reller, confirmed that the upcoming Windows 8 update, previously codenamed Windows Blue, has now been given the official release name Windows 8.1, and will be a free upgrade for all Windows 8 users.

According a Q1, 2013 report by Canalys, 59.5 percent of all smart devices in the market -- 308.7 million smartphones, tablets and notebooks -- were running Google's Android operating system. A leaked Google Play Services (v3.1.36) update file contains codes that hint at a new multi-player social gaming network called Google Games. Despite controversy surrounding the uptake of Windows 8, Microsoft has revealed that more than 100 million Windows 8 licenses have now been sold. And the next update for the OS, codenamed Windows Blue, will see a public preview in June at the BUILD conference.

Nan Chiau Primary School, the National Institute of Education, the University of Michigan, Microsoft, Nokia, SingTel, and Qualcomm Incorporated, through Qualcomm Wireless Reach, shared results from the WE Learn project, showing significant improvement in students’ 21st century skills.
Google recently announced a new extension (Chrome Office Viewer) for Google Chrome that lets you open Microsoft Office files directly on the web browser. Files are also sandboxed to prevent compromised Microsoft Office files from causing any damage to your computer system.
