In an effort to give Office Web Apps users a comprehensive productivity experience, Microsoft will be adding many new features in the coming months. PDF viewing is now possible in the Word Web App, and Excel Web App now supports freeze panes and data validation.

The new Facebook 5.0 app for Windows Phone 8 features an overhauled UI, improved navigation, and timeline, just to name a few, with Facebook chat being built into the Messaging app on the Windows Phone as well.

Microsoft has announced plans to discontinue the TechNet Subscription service. Currently, it allows subscribers to try full version and beta software from Microsoft's extensive library, for an annual fee as low as US$199. However, this service will be retired by the end of August 2013.

Microsoft has announced Internet Explorer 11 will support SPDY and WebGL. Early adopters can look forward to speedy web browsing, and interactive 2D and 3D graphics without the need for any plug-ins.
At Build 2013, it was announced that Foursquare has developed a native tablet app for Windows 8 tablets. This is the company's first native tablet app. Several big-name apps are coming to the platform too, as Windows Store nears 100,000 apps.

According to All Things D, Microsoft is expected to unveil a major restructuring on July 1st. CEO Steve Ballmer seems to have been planning this re-organization only with a small group of direct reports and some board members, leaving the larger group of leadership executives out of the loop.
