Apple has quietly updated their Mac Pro desktop series without any fanfare. This long-overdue hardware update for this high-end desktop series may bring little joy as these desktops still offer USB 2.0 and FireWire 800 connections, while support for Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 are still absent.
Besides showcasing the new features of iOS 6, Apple also launched a new Smart Case for the iPad which has a polyurethane back that snaps in place over the tablet itself.
Apple has refreshed its MacBooks with Ivy Bridge processors, USB 3.0 support, extra SSD storage, and NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M GPUs. A super thin, optical drive-less 15-inch MacBook Pro sporting a 2,880 x 1,800-pixel Retina display was also unveiled.

There are plenty of rumors swirling around the web prior to Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference due to commence tonight. However the appearance of apps with "Retina Graphics" in Apple's Mac App Store have pretty much confirmed the use of Retina displays on some of Apple's new hardware.
iOS 6, rumored to be announced during the upcoming WWDC 2012, will allegedly not support the original iPad or third-generation iPod touch, the Verge reports.
