Acer and Lenovo are reported to be launching their Windows 8 tablets in the third quarter of 2012. The tablets are said to run on Intel's upcoming "Clover Trail" processors.
Notebook Italia obtained an image of a 7-inch ASUS Eee Pad tablet, which seemed to have a different design from the rest of the Eee Pad tablets. ASUS is rumored to announce the new tablet at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012 next week.

Windows tablets haven't found themselves many fans over the years, and have mostly been relegated to niche users. Come Windows 8 however, and all that is set to change. Wired predicts that Windows 8 will make Windows tablets surprise, and ultimately appeal to mainstream consumers.

The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer will be available in Singapore from early January 2012. It will be powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box.

Consumer electronics manufacturer Coby will unveil five Ice Cream Sandwich-powered tablets in 2012 with 7, 8, 9, 9.7 and 10-inches variants. The company plans to unveil the tablets at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 next month.
