At Microsoft's booth in Computex 2012, we spotted a notebook we least expected to encounter - the Toshiba U840W Ultrabook with an ultra widescreen 21:9 aspect ratio display. Screaming of premium build and an unusual screen size, it's a niche product.
Although NVIDIA controls the design and availability of the GeForce GTX 690, ASUS skirted around this with the successor to the powerful Mars II. The new Mars III made an appearance at Computex 2012 boasting dual GeForce GTX 680 GPUs (which is essentially a GTX 690), but with full custom design and a sizable 8GB video memory!
MSI thinks out-of-the-box with its third generation Graphics Upgrade Solution. It has external GPU enclosure that features a Thunderbolt interface and is able to support multi-monitor output.
We had a quick hands on with the MSI Slider S20, a convertible hybrid tablet packed with its own keyboard. The MSI Slider is powered by Windows 8 and features more connectivity ports than most tablets. In fact, we are tempted to label it as an ultrabook-hybrid with a tablet mode.
Antec at Computex 2012 is showcasing new products, such as PSUs which relate to their core competency, as well as new audio peripherals which should expand the reach of the brand.
