At the ASRock booth in Computex 2012, we were greeted with a slew of Intel Z77 Express chipset-based motherboards. We highlight those that caught our attention. The ASRock Z77E-ITX mini-ITX board features a PCIe Gen 3 x16 PEG slot; hence, playing the latest games is possibility if you pair this rig with a discrete graphics card with the necessary compute requirements.
The board is bundled with ASRock Wi-Fi 2,4GHz antenna that connects to the onboard Wi-Fi module (IEEE 802.11n). There is also no shortage of video connectivity with its HDMI, DVI-I and DisplayPort interfaces.
Besides active cooling for the VRM heatsink, we also see a water block for water cooling. This motherboard is really built for overclocking!
Contrary to its market branding, ASRock did graciously admit that they were not first to the market with support for 4-channel Thunderbolt with their Z77 Extreme6/TB4 motherboards; it was actually Gigabyte who beat them to the draw.
