YouTube Movie Rental Store will soon be made available on Philips Smart TVs, according to a recent report published by Pocket-lint. The article also confirms that Philips Smart TV will be one of the first platforms to offer users access to YouTube's movie rental service via their television sets later this year. However, its specific release date is yet unknown.

Philips has acknowledged that the rental service won't be exclusive to the Dutch firm, but users of Philips' Smart TVs would be among the first to gain access to this online feature following its launch. Besides the UK, YouTube's movie rental feature is also available in regions like the States and Japan. Rental rates are typically priced at £3.49 for new releases, and older movie titles between £2.49 and £3.49.

As for rental durations, viewers are generally given a 30-day window to watch their films on YouTube, and 48 hours once they start viewing it. We'll have to wait and see if YouTube's Movie Rental Store would eventually makes its way to Singapore. As for now, local users may view less popular titles via YouTube's Movie channel.
