YouTube has a new mobile app that will soon support 3D VR video

The new tabs should make it easier to get to your favorite videos from the mobile app.

YouTube has recently released an update that specifically takes mobile users into account, making it easier to find videos and create them too.

The app interface gains three new tabs:

Home: Which allows you to explore and discover videos and personalized playlists with recommendations based on your watch history.

Subscriptions: The latest videos from your favorite channels and creators will go here, and there’s now an easy way to get notifications from the channels you love – simply tap the bell icon on the channels you love and you’ll get a notification as soon as a new video is posted.

Account: Let’s you check out your playlists, watch history, and the videos you’ve uploaded all in one spot.

You will also be able to watch vertical videos natively in the app, and there’s going to be a new set of video creation tools that will allow you to trim footage, tint the image with filters, add music, and do a direct upload without leaving the app.

In a keynote speech at the 6th annual Vidcon event, YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki also announced that support for real 3D virtual reality video a la NextVR is coming soon, with 360-degree video to match.
