You can now order the Apple W1-equipped Beats Powerbeats3 Wireless headphones

With the AirPods still MIA, there aren’t many headphones around that use Apple’s W1 wireless chip. The Beats Solo3 Wireless is one option but that costs S$398; the more affordable (S$198) BeatsX is another, but that still shows a fall release date.

That said, if you don't mind a sports-oriented earphones with earhooks, there’s actually another option, and that’s the Powerbeats3 Wireless. Announced at the same time as the AirPods, Solo3 Wireless, and BeatsX, the Powerbeats3 Wireless is the second W1 chip-equipped headphones to hit the market. Already on sale in the U.S., it’s now available for order on the Singapore Apple Store (ships in 1 to 2 weeks) at a price of S$268.

The W1 chip for super-fast pairing and switching between iOS devices in your iCloud account aside, the Powerbeats3 Wireless features up to 12 hours of battery life and a Fast Fuel feature that gives you 1 hour of playback with just a 5-minute charge. Its Class 1 Bluetooth implementation should give you very good range like the Solo3 Wireless; and like most sports earphones, it is sweat and water resistant. Additionally, RemoteTalk lets you take calls with the built-in mic, play music, adjust volume, as well as activate Siri.

Unlike the BeatsX that charges over Lightning, the Powerbeats3 Wireless charges over USB, and a USB-A to USB Micro-B cable is bundled in the box. Other accessories include a carry case and eartips of four different sizes.
