You can add free 2GB storage to your Google Drive account today
Google is now giving away free 2GB storage for Google Drive accounts. The freebie is given away to Google Drive users at the end of a simple security inspection of their respective accounts. It’s really that simple.
The security check is a quick three-step process. It will ask the user for any changes to their alternate contact details, plus a quick overview of their connected devices and web applications that have special access to their Google accounts. The security inspection also allows you to remove permissions and highlight abnormal behavior (if any). Once it’s done, the 2GB free storage will be waiting for you in Google Drive. The bonus space is permanently added to your account.
According to The Verge, the free storage offer should be claimable for another year, just like the previous promotion by Google. The current one also coincides with Safer Internet Day 2016, which is meant to encourage safer and more secure usage of technology.
