Yahoo Might be Buying Stake in Video Sharing Site Dailymotion
According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Yahoo is currently in talks to acquire a major stake in video sharing site, Dailymotion. WSJ's sources also said that Yahoo is looking at buying as much as 75% of Dailymotion, which is estimated to be worth about US$300 million.
If this deal exists, and goes through, it would be Yahoo CEO, Marissa Mayer's first major acquisition since she took over last year. Dailymotion originated from France, and is the world's second largest video sharing website after Youtube. France Telecom's Orange currently owns 49% of the video sharing site.
