X'mas Gift Idea 7: A speedy gaming laptop for MOBA gamers

Note: This year, our gift suggestion series is proudly supported by ASUS and their ROG team. Thank you ASUS!

The ASUS ROG Strix GL503 Hero is a gaming laptop designed expressly for MOBA gamers. That's obviously a very specific genre, and the 15.6-inch Hero features highlighted QWER keys, which corresponds to common key bindings in games like Dota 2 and League of Legends.

More importantly, it features a 120Hz IPS display, so gameplay should feel smooth, responsive, and fluid. Of course, you'll need decent hardware to take advantage of the high refresh rate, and the notebook is powered by an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, 16GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GPU.

The Hero laptop is also adorned by the ROG brand’s signature Mayan patterns and distinctive dark blue accents, and the lid is a lot fancier than that on the GL503 Scar laptops, in keeping with the rich mythology of many MOBA games.

It starts at S$2,698, and you can read more about it here.  Alternatively, there's the ROG Strix GL503 Scar, which was made for FPS gamers and can be equipped with up to an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070.
