Xiaomi's first batch of Mi 4 phones sold out in China under 40 seconds

Xiaomi's new flagship smartphone, the Mi 4 went on sale yesterday in China and it is no surprise that stocks ran out quickly.

According to a post on the MIUI forum, the first batch of Mi 4 units was snapped up in 37 seconds although there was no indication on how many units were available for purchase. In comparison, Xiaomi managed to sell 50,000 units of its Mi Pad in less than four minutes.

The Mi 4 was announced last Tuesday at an event in Beijing. It comes with a 5-inch, 1080p display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core 2.5GHz processor with 3GB RAM. Other key specs include MIUI V6 OS, a 13-megapixel rear camera with aperture of f/1.8 and a 3,080mAh battery. At press time, there is no indication on the availability of the Mi 4 in Singapore.
