Xiaomi unveils Redmi 1S 4G with Android 4.4 KitKat and 2,200mAh battery

Less than a week after unveiling the Redmi Note 4G, Xiaomi today announced the Redmi 1S 4G. It will be available for purchase in China this Saturday, August 16 for 699 yuan (estimated S$141 based on currency rates at press time). 

Do note that the Redmi 1S currently supports TD-LTE, which is different from the FDD-LTE standard used in Singapore. The Redmi 1S 4G is powered by a MediaTek MT6582 quad-core 1.3GHz processor, 1GB RAM, MIUI V5 based on Android 4.4 KitKat and a slightly bigger 2,200mAh battery.

The other specs remain similar which include a 4.7-inch 720p display, an internal storage capacity of 8GB, microSD expansion up to 32GB, Bluetooth 4.0 LE + Bluetooth 3.0 HS, an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture. 

We've reached out to Xiaomi Singapore on the availability of the Redmi 1S 4G and will update this section when we have the information.
