Xiaomi is holding a global Mi phone launch on April 23 in New Delhi and rumor has it that we are going to set a new variant of the Mi 4 flagship smartphone.

According to a Chinese website Mobile-Dad.com, Xiaomi is planning to unveil a cheaper, plastic-clad Mi 4i handset on Thursday. Positioned as a cheaper model, the Mi 4i is alleged to be powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset and 2GB RAM.

Other specs include a 5-inch 1080p display, 16GB internal storage space, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and dual-SIM and dual-standby support. Its retail price is said to be about 1,300 yuan (~S$283), which is about S$120 cheaper than the Mi 4.

Besides the Mi 4i, Xiaomi is also rumored to be refreshing the Redmi Note. The Redmi Note 2 will reportedly come in two models - one with 1GB RAM and the other with 2GB RAM.
