Xiaomi Mi 5 finally lands in Singapore!
Launched in February in MWC 2016, the Xiaomi's latest flagship smartphone equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, a super bright 5.15-inch screen with 600 nits brightness and 4-axis optical image stabilization is finally available locally from 25th June 2016. The 129-gram phone has a metal frame with a 3D glass design and is the first Xiaomi phone with a physical home button/fingerprint scanner on the front.
According to our launch news, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is available in three variants, but Singapore is only receiving the 'entry-level' variant according to the specification painted in the image above. At S$619, it's not cheap and Xiaomi is probably trying to eradicate such an association too by competing directly with all existing flagship smartphones in the market - including the soon-to-be-available OnePlus 3.
Fortunately, we've already had a good hands-on session with it and you can read all about our initial opinion of the Mi 5 over here. How about more photos of the phone? Check out our Xiaomi Mi 5 photo gallery.
What's different this time from a local launch perspective is the wide availability of the device as well as through the telcos with a more favorable contract based price:-
- All Challenger outlets island-wide (list of outlets)
- All M1 outlets (list of outlets) + M1 online store
- StarHub online store
