Xiaomi Mi 5 to come with 5.5-inch Quad-HD display, Snapdragon 820 and Sense ID?
Xiaomi may have announced the Mi Note Pro and Mi 4i, but it is keeping the best for the last.
According to Mobile-Dad.com, Xiaomi's upcoming Mi 5 is the smartphone which every Android fan dreams about. It is rumored to be powered by Qualcomm's next generation Snapdragon 820 processor which was announced at Mobile World Congress 2015.
The more interesting bit is the chipset's support for Qualcomm's Sense ID technology, a 3D fingerprint scanner technology that uses ultrasonic sound waves to read fingerprint through glass, metal and other surfaces without being affected by sweat, dirt or water on the finger. This raises the possibility that the Mi 5 would be the first Xiaomi phone to come with a fingerprint sensor.
Other alleged specs include a whopping 4GB RAM, a 5.5-inch Quad-HD display, an ultra-thin aluminium chassis of 5.1mm, a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera and a USB Type C port.
Earlier this month, a leak on Chinese social networking site Weibo suggested that there might be a "Plus" version of the Mi 5 which will come with a 6-inch display. While the leak specified a launch date in July, a leaked product roadmap hints of a later date in November.
