XCAN 1 Portable Document & Book Scanner to Be Announced at CeBIT 2012

PiQx Imaging will be announcing the XCAN 1 during the CeBIT 2012.

Aimed to make scanning easier, the camera-based document scanner allows anything up to a full A4 page to be scanned. Just place document on the desk under the camera and it gets digitized almost instantly. The document automatically gets detected and gets sent to the PC to be saved or edited.

If the document is not flat, simply stretch it with your fingers at the edges, and the software will remove the fingers from the image automatically. Designed to be attached to the back of a laptop, it has image quality comparable to a conventional scan at 300dpi. Also, it does text enhancements to bring up sharper looking texts. In addition, it is equipped with an 8-megapixel personal document camera which streams and/or record videos.

The XCAN 1 will be available starting June 2012 at Amazon.com and electronics/office supplies retailers.
