The Xbox One is getting mouse support and more
Peripheral support on consoles have always been a bit of an iffy area. Consoles in the past relied on custom ports for the controllers, which meant that peripherals like generic keyboards and mice aren't compatible. While USB ports on consoles have solved the problem for the physical connection, software drivers for the peripherals must still exist for them to be usable on a console. That's why consoles like the Xbox One allow USB keyboards but not USB mice. At least for now.
If Phil Spencer's words are to be believed (and they should since he's the head of the Xbox division), mouse support is coming to the Xbox One soon. Since Gamescom is just weeks away (5th - 9th August in Cologne, Germany), that might actually be the best time for Microsoft to unveil mouse support officially.
Of course, mouse support, while nice, isn't the most interesting thing in the tweets. The fact that Phil Spencer is actually open to bringing PC streaming to the Xbox One says a lot. Most gamers have been wondering whether Microsoft would make it possible to stream PC to Xbox One as soon as Microsoft announced the Xbox One to PC streaming feature.
While the feature probably won't hit the Xbox One soon since mouse support isn't even out yet, it's probably safe to expect that it's one of the higher priority projects Microsoft has on the back burner.
