Windows Update is about to get less irritating
I like installing software updates, especially those that fix critical bugs, but I hate it when the system needs to reboot when I’m in the flow writing an article. If you’re like me, then good news: Windows Update is about to get less irritating in the upcoming Windows 10 Creators Update.
For example, with the Creators Update, Windows will have more options for you to specify when an update should occur. You can, of course, install and reboot immediately; schedule it to happen later; or hit the snooze button for a temporary 3-day delay. You can’t delay an update forever though; but coupled with the widening of the “Active Hours” time, you should see fewer disruptions when you’re actively working on your PC.
More control around privacy
Microsoft is also highlighting new user-controllable privacy settings in the Creators Update. First announced in January, in short, there’s going to be a new screen that lets you choose privacy settings for your device. The settings are fairly granular, from location and speech recognition to diagnostics data and ad permissions.
WIndows 10 Creators Update is expected to arrive in April.
