Windows 8 Box Packaging Design Revealed

With Windows 8 released to manufacturing last week, and on track for its general availability in less than three months, what else is left to reveal for Microsoft’s latest and greatest operating system? Why, the retail packaging of course! The Verge has managed to get their hands on a couple of images showing exactly how the Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro retail boxes look like. Expectedly, you’ve a big ‘Windows 8 style UI’ Windows logo adorning the front, overlooking a colorful backdrop. The predominately white box is for Windows 8; the black one for Windows 8 Pro.

Of course, for those buying new PCs that come pre-installed with Windows 8, it’s unlikely you’ll ever see this packaging - unless like us, one of your pastimes is to walk the IT stores. Now that we see how the Windows 8 boxes look like, hands up those who still remember how the Windows 7 retail boxes look like. Anyone?
