If you are a visual creature and think everything looks better in a pristine and pure white color, a white smartphone will probably catch your attention. Similar to the earlier announced white Nokia N9, we now have a white Nokia Lumia 800. This is unsurprising, given that the MeeGo and Windows Phone devices share the same industrial design.

Announced on Nokia Conversations, the white Lumia 800 will join its black, cyan and magenta cousins as the fourth color offered on Nokia's first Windows Phone. According to Nokia, the polycarbonate body is dyed thoroughly by mixing the correct color pigment within the polycarbonate liquid, and forming the mould from the mixture.  And this white exterior was two years in the making through endless trial and crafting, according to Grace Boicel, Head of Smart Devices Colours Materials and Design at Nokia Design.

While the pure white design looks great, some might wonder if it'll withstand all forms of dirt and smudges. Nokia claims that the white polycarbonate body is extra durable and easy to maintain with a simple swipe and clean. A white exterior should hide visible smudges, though one can't help but wonder if you'll be spending more time cleaning the white Lumia 800 than using it.

The white Nokia Lumia 800 will be available in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Scandinavia, Finland, Poland and Switzerland, with other countries to follow. We've reached out to Nokia Singapore to check on the availability of the white Lumia 800, and will follow up with more updates.
