Whatsapp's web client coming soon to iPhone users

It has taken awhile, but Whatsapp users on iPhones will now finally be able to use the instant messaging service on their desktops through Whatsapp Web.

Whatsapp Web was introduced earlier this year as way for users to continue using the service on their desktop. Messages and chat history would be synced across both services allowing for users to easily continue their conversations from their mobile device to their desktops.

This was seen as a move to combat rival services like Google Hangout and Line, which offer apps across various platforms and devices, allowing for users to chat with their friends regardless of the device they were using.

However, Whatsapp Web was restricted to only Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone devices. The team cited "Apple platform limitations" as to why iPhone users were left out of this service.

Fortunately, a visit to Whatsapp Web clearly indicates instructions for setting up on iPhones.

According to reports, the service is being rolled out in stages and we couldn't get ours to work with Whatsapp Web yet. So best be patient and check your phone regularly for updates to the Whatsapp app.
