Last week, we reported that HTC will be holding a press event in New York on August 19, which many are speculating is for the announcement of a Windows Phone version of the HTC One (M8). Now, an image of the device was found on the servers of U.S. carrier Verizon.
In a nutshell, design-wise, the HTC One (M8) for Windows Phone looks just like its Android cousin (color us unsurprised); that is, an all-metal chassis with HTC’s famous BoomSound front-facing stereo speakers. Looking at the image, HTC BlinkFeed has also found its way onto the device; so too are on-screen buttons, which are supported since the Windows Phone 8.1 update. Other rumored features include a Snapdragon 801 SoC, 5-inch 1080p display, HTC’s Duo Camera, TV remote, support for Voice over LTE, and a microSD card slot.
Do you like Windows Phone, but have stopped short of getting one because you don’t fancy Nokia’s Lumia line? It looks like there’s now a very, very good alternative.
