We're starting a new Weekly Roundup feature for tech news busy folks might have missed during the week. This week, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge hit Singapore, Xiaomi's low prices are going to go lower (for one day only), the Microsoft Surface 3 gets our hands-on, plus more.

Samsung announces Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Singapore pricing and availability

First up, Samsung announced the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge's prices and availability for Singapore. Singtel, Starhub and M1 promptly put up their websites for customers to register their interest. Good news for WhatsApp users on Android: you can make free voice calls now! For iOS users, the feature is "coming soon".


Epson celebrates 40th anniversary, gets named world's number one projector brand

So, Epson celebrates the 40th anniversary of the brand's creation, and has also been named the world's number one projector brand by projector market research firm Futuresource Consulting. That's not a bad birthday present. It's also the 14th year in a row that Epson has received this ranking. Our readers will agree too considering Epson has been nominated as our Readers' Choice Winner in HWZ+HWM's Tech Awards 2014 as the Best Business Projector.
 

Xiaomi celebrates 5th birthday with discounts and new products in Singapore

Sony wins 15 Red Dot Design awards

Sony swooped 15 Red Dot Design awards this year, with two Red Dot Best of the Best Awards in the product design category. One of them went to the Sony Xperia E3 and the other went to the LSPX-W1 4K ultra-short throw laser projector (a variant of this crazy S$63,000 4K projector). The other Red Dot Design Award winners included the BRAVIA X9500B Series, the Xperia Z3 Series, the NW-ZX2 Walkman and the Cyber-shot RX100 III.

It's a super-slim tablet with a nice (optional) keyboard, is powered by an Intel Atom processor and runs Windows 8.1. Yes, Windows 8.1, not Windows RT.
