WD's My Book series of external hard disk drives offer something for everyone and the new My Book Pro has been designed specifically for enthusiasts and professionals who demand absolute performance from an external storage drive solution.

On the outside, the My Book Pro resembles WD's My Cloud EX2 NAS drive. Going further, it offers two 3.5-inch hard disk drive bays and comes out of the box with two 7200rpm fast-spinning WD Black drives. It also comes with a hot-swappable hardware RAID controller so users can switch between RAID 0 for performance and RAID 1 for redundancy and protection.

The My Book Pro also features dual Thunderbolt 2 ports so users can daisy chain the My Book Pro with other accessories. There's also two USB 3.0 ports upfront that users can use to attach additional storage devices or simply use them to charge their mobile device.

The My Book Pro is available now in 6TB, 8TB, 10TB and 12TB capacities. Prices will begin at US$599 for the 6TB model, US$749 for the 8TB model, US$899 for the 10TB model and top out at US$999 for the 12TB model.

Locally, the 6TB model will retail at S$999, the 8TB model for S$1299, the 10TB model for S$1599 and finally the 12TB will go for S$1799.
