WD Offers Highest Capacity My Book to Date with 8TB

WD has announced its highest capacity My Book ever - the My Book Thunderbolt Duo 8TB, as well as the My Book 4TB external hard drive models. Earlier this year, the Thunderbolt Duo was launched with a maximum capacity of 6TB. The dual Thunderbolt ports allows for daisy-chaining of up to six My Book Thunderbolt Duo drives (48TB using six Thunderbolt Duo 8TB drives) or other high performance peripherals including HD monitors, media players, and video/audio editors. The My Book Thunderbolt Duo 8TB drive will ship together with a Thunderbolt cable in the box for added convenience.

Compatible the new Windows 8 OS, the My Book 4TB drive allows users to backup computer files faster than before via its USB 3.0 interface. On top of providing file protection through backup, the My Book 3.0 drives (including 1TB, 2TB, and 3TB) will also include automatic, continuous backup of all content generate on your computer and offer password protection and hardware enryption to provide additinal security against unauthorized access to files and other data.

The My Book Thunderbolt Duo 8TB external hard drive is priced at S$1,199, while the My Book 4TB external hard drive is costs S$299. Both drives are distributed by Eternal Asia (S) Pte Ltd and SiS Technology Pte Ltd in Singapore.
