ViewSonic Announces New TD40 Series Touch Displays

ViewSonic has introduced its new 21.5-inch TD2240 and 27-inch TD2740 10-point projected capacitive touch screen displays.

The bookstand design of ViewSonic TD2240 and TD2740 provides advanced ergonomics and allows the display to be tilted, or laid flat on a table top, for more comfortable use. Paired with SuperClear technology with ultra-wide viewing angles, image distortion and color shifting are eliminated, even at extreme angles, bringing greater definition and clarity to multimedia content. With its 10-point multi-touch technology and a durable, scratch resistant surface, the new models offer a highly accurate and ultra-responsive touch experience, whether for web-browsing, gaming, typing, or applications execution.

The touch display is constructed with a 7H hardness protective glass which provides increased scratch-protection to deliver the safest and most durable touch experience. It prevents any heavy damage caused by fingers, nails, or styluses during touch operations, making it ideal for use in kiosks, educational settings, or other public environments. The TD40 series' integrated pair of 2W speakers, 1-megapixel front-facing webcam supports HD video quality, and microphone enables video conferencing with internet access.

Both models are equipped with a HDMI port and DisplayPort digital interface each, to support signals from set-top boxes, Blu-ray players, and Full HD camcorders and deliver Full HD images.

Fused with MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link), the TD2240 enables users to connect compatible mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets, directly to its display, allowing digital content to be viewed in Full HD resolution on the 22-inch screen. For additional convenience, the batteries of mobile devices are charged while connected via MHL. The model also features a 4-port USB 3.0 hub, and is Windows 8 compatible, so you can use Microsoft Office Suite applications, surf the Internet, watch multimedia entertainment, or simply use it to access the Windows Store to download apps.

Besides its frameless bezel design with intuitive touch control panel, the TD2740 has ViewSonic's Eco-mode function built in. Both "Optimize" (85%) and "Conserve" (65%) modes reduce display brightness, conserving energy by up to 30%. In low ambient light, Eco-mode adjusts brightness and improves visibility while reducing eye fatigue and prolonging the display's lamp life.

The TD2240 and TD2740 will be available in Q1 2014, for S$699 and S$1,199 respectively.
