Valve to Hand Out Steam Box Prototypes to Customers in the Following Months

Valve co-founder Gabe Newell has said that the Steam Box gaming console is still undergoing development and that prototype units will be sent out to "customers" to gauge reaction and get feedback.

This will be done in the next three to four months and Newell also said that there's still a number of issues that needs to be dealt with. He cited noise and heat issues as being challenging to solve and that they are also pondering whether to include biometric sensors into the controller. The biometric sensor could be used to measure a player's heart rate and "things like that" so that the game could offer a unique experience each time players play it.

The Steam Box is looking to be very interesting and promising and with Sony already unveiling key details about the PlayStation 4, it's now all eyes on Microsoft to see what their next-generation console is going to be like.
