Two-day exhibition of Samsung's latest devices starts now

Launch of the Galaxy Studio at Civic Plaza, Ngee Ann City.

Samsung is currently doing a two-day long public exhibition at Civic Plaza, outside Ngee Ann City. From 26 to 27 September 2015, you can visit the Galaxy Studio tent for a hands-on with the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 4G+ and Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch.

Various interactive activities divided into four sections have been prepared for visitors who would be exploring the Galaxy Studio. Each zone focuses on a different aspect of the Galaxy lineup.

For example, the first zone focuses on the design and development of the Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch, with hands-on opportunities for interested visitors. In this zone, members of the public can win a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Gear S2 smartwatch bundle worth S$1,536 by taking part in an hourly design contest which will happen between 12PM to 7PM on both exhibition days. The design contest simply requires participants to design a watch face, and the best design from the hour wins the bundle.

Eunjoo Kim, Principal Designer (Left), and Jaehyung Hong, Senior Designer (Right), from the Mobile Communications Division of Samsung Electronics, showing off their hard work, the Samsung Gear S2.

Jaehyung Hong, Senior Designer of the Mobile Communications Division from Samsung Electronics, shared some insights about the new Gear S2 design. “We've been studying the circular UI for a long time,” he explained. “Consumers will expect a lot from the smartwatch, and it (the circular UI) gives a better user experience.”

There are many hands-on stations located in the Galaxy Studio

In the second zone, visitors can see the tear-down showcase of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, and also have a hands-on with the Note 5 devices themselves. This zone will also have caricature artists for visitors to get a portrait of themselves to bring home.

Baristas busy with making many cups of Selfie coffee.

Coffee lovers would do well in the third zone, where visitors can enjoy cups of Selfie Coffee - where a personalised photo is taken using the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, and then printed using edible ink on the coffee foam. An award-winning barista will be teaching visitors latte art between 12PM to 7PM on both days of the exhibition as well.

Silent Concert in progress.

Audio enthusiasts would probably find the fourth zone interesting, as this zone features a 'silent concert' for all visitors who come by. Tracks will be upscaled to Ultra High Quality Audio (UHQ Audio), and you can experience the high audio quality via the Samsung Level On Wireless Pro headphones available in the area. Guest performers for this zone includes Zouk's Guest DJ Andrew, local bands such as HubbaBubbas, Johan & Jerome, as well as Goodfellas, The Switch Gang, and 53A, will all be playing at different times across the two days.

Visitors can also pre-order the Samsung Gear S2 at the Galaxy Studio itself. To do so, simply place a S$50 deposit and indicate their preferred collection point (with a choice between Samsung Experience Stores or other selected electronics store) and proceed to pick up the smartwatch on 2 October 2015. The Samsung Gear S2 will be available for S$448, in colors Dark Grey and White, and the Leather band option will be S$548. Buying the smartwatch will net a free wireless charging dock (S$68) and a S$200 voucher for a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 or Galaxy S6 edge+.
