Twitter Introduces Age Screening for Brands

Everyone knows that the Internet can be a scary place, especially for minors. Information and content not suitable for children have to be policed and regulated. Twitter, in collaboration with Buddy Media, is doing just that with the introduction of Age Screening.

As of now, brands who feel their products are not suited for the under-age can opt in voluntarily for the new Age Screening feature. This means that users will be prompted to enter their date of birth when accessing the particular brand's Twitter feed. Once users enter their age, future follows will automatically take it into consideration.

The move provides adult brands and products (such as alcohol) an option to better control their social media advertising efforts.
