Featuring a new management interface, the router summarizes wireless network setup and respective wireless encryption, internet connection status, guest network status, parental controls, and displays current connected devices. Security is also enhanced, with the management interface pre-encrypted with unique passwords to eliminate the possibility of hackers intruding your device using unchanged default login credentials.

The router's USB port is also upgraded to USB 3.0 which supports speeds of up to 5Gbps. Additionally, for clear line of sight connections to the router at distances greater than about 15.2m, users can experience performance increases as high as 100% as compared with the first version of the TEW-812DRU.

Covered by a 3-year limited warranty, the upgraded TEW-812DRU will retail for US$229.99 by end of this year.
