Trendnet announces the TEW-817DTR, a wireless travel router with swappable power plugs

Networking hardware maker Trendnet has announced the TEW-817DTR wireless travel router. With concurrent 433Mbps Wireless-AC and 300Mbps Wireless-N bands, users can quickly convert a single wired or wireless Internet connection into a shared Wi-Fi network for other wireless devices.

More importantly, this AC750 travel router plugs directly into the power outlet, and comes with interchangeable power plugs (North American, European, and United Kingdom). This ensures travellers can use it whichever continent they’re in.

Here are some key specs of the TEW-817DTR:

  • Share a single Internet connection with multiple users
  • Networks Wi-Fi AC and N devices while on the go
  • AC750: concurrent 433Mbps Wi-Fi AC + 300Mbps Wi-Fi N bands
  • Interchangeable power plugs: North America, Euro, and UK
  • Supports Router, Wireless ISP (WISP), Access Point, and Repeater modes
  • Pre-encrypted WiFi for your convenience
  • Ethernet port
  • VPN passthrough support (IPSec, PPTP, and L2TP VPN)
  • Energy savings GREENnet technology
  • IPv6 network support

The Trendnet TEW-817DTR will hit U.S. retailers this coming May, and is priced at US$89.99. It also comes with a 3-year limited warranty.
