TRENDnet Announces Open Source DD-WRT Compatibility for Wireless AC Routers

TRENDnet has announced open source DD-WRT firmware compatibility for the high performance TEW-818DRU (v1.0), TEW-812DRU (v2.0), and TEW-811DRU (v1.0) Wireless AC routers.

The Linux-based alternative open source firmware for wireless routers and access points unlocks operational modes such as using a router as a wireless extender, client bridge, or access point. It also offers a comprehensive set of controls including the ability to modify wireless radio power, define advance access controls, choose from a greater DDNS service support list, create a Wi-Fi hotspot, setup VLANs for the router's wired ports, define advanced USB port functionality, manage enhanced QoS controls, and more.
