The Toshiba Excite, revealed at CES 2012, is the company's new 10-inch Android tablet and possibly the world's thinnest tablet. Sporting a thickness of just 0.3 inches thick, the Excite weighs only 1.2 lbs (0.54kg). On the other hand, the Excite's competitors, Apple's iPad 2, is 0.4 inches thick and weighs 1.35 lbs (0.6kg), while Samsung's 10-inch Galaxy Tab is 0.33 inches thick, weighing 1.31 lbs (0.59kg).
Ports include micro-SD, Micro USB, Micro HDMI and an audio jack. The Excite also possesses a 2 megapixel camera on the front and a 5 megapixel camera on the back. With a screen resolution of 1280 x800, the Excite runs a 1.2 GHz dual-core Texas Instruments CPU with 1 GB of RAM under its hood. The version of Android that the Excite will be running has yet to be confirmed, though Toshiba has built it to support Ice Cream Sandwich.
Details on the price have yet to be revealed.
