More tablets are heading our way, and Toshiba has given a closer estimate for its own tablet offering, the Toshiba SmartPad. Mark Whittard, Managing Director of Toshiba Australia, shared a peek of the prototype SmartPad during Toshiba's 25th anniversary event, and stated that the tablet will be slated to be available sometime in October.
Gizmodo - The suspiciously familiar looking prototype is one of several tablets Toshiba's preparing, relays PC Authority Australia, some of which will run Android and others Windows 7. Whittard didn't say which operating system the SmartPad would run.
Toshiba isn't the only company moving onto the tablet scene, as we're keeping our eyes on the upcoming HP Slate which should be running on the company's recenntly acquired Palm's WebOS platform. In the meantime, more info about the Toshiba SmartPad can be found here.
