Toshiba Expands Ultrabook Range with Satellite U940

Toshiba is adding the new Satellite U940 to its Ultrabook lineup. Measuring less than 21mm thin, the 14-inch Satellite U940 comes powered by Intel Ivy Bridge processors with DDR3 1600MHz memory, and a 640GB hard drive with 32GB SSD cache. Providing ultra-fast responsiveness and ultra-quick boot time with Intel Rapid Start and Smart Response technology, the ultrabook is equipped with NVIDIA discrete graphics along with NVIDIA Optimus technology, offering users high-performance 3D game play and battery conservation when handling office productivity applications.

With stereo speakers enhanced by SRS Premium Sound 3D, the Satellite U940 houses full-sized ports and interfaces, including (but not limited to) a HD webcam, HDMI, Ethernet LAN, and three USB ports with one of them featuring Toshiba's USB Sleep & Charge technology that allows charging of smartphones or MP3 players while the ultrabook is turned off. It also comes packed with a raised illuminated tiled keyboard and a spacious ClickPad with support for Windows 8 gesture.
