Toshiba Bringing World's Thinnest and Lightest Tablet and Ultrabook to CES 2012

Toshiba Bringing World's Thinnest and Lightest Tablet and Ultrabook to CES 2012

The wonders of Google Translate managed to provide us with some sketchy details on what Toshiba will be revealing at CES 2012.

As expected, the company will be unveiling a new 13.3-inch Ultrabook that's touted to be the world's thinnest and lightest. No details have been announced, though if it's just another showing of the Toshiba Portege Z830, we'll be sorely disappointed. A 10.1-inch tablet is also up for display, with the same claim that it's the world's thinnest and lightest tablet.

More importantly, Toshiba Japan mentioned that it will be bringing a prototype tablet to Las Vegas. Some of its features such as a waterproof exterior and an OLED display might not seem too fanciful, but what we're looking at, is its promise of wireless charging on the prototype tablet.

Toshiba might not be the first to introduce a tablet with wireless charging capabilities (think HP's ill-fated TouchPad and the TouchStone charging dock), but it will hopefully be commercially available to consumers.
